A classic blues from the great tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins, Tenor Madness expands upon the idea of the simple repeated riff. In the brief space of 12 bars, Mr. Rollins introduces a simple riff and proceeds to alter it to fit the harmony and resolves it into a satisfying and be-boppish phrase.
